A Raspberry Promise

That’s all she wanted out of him,
A pair of dreamy eyes, a rough sheltered presence
Mismatched clothes with ruffled hair
Troubled language and messy affair

Rusty brick looks of the Earth
Yet fresh waves of cool blue ocean
Gust of a dusty chilling wind splashing right on her face
A fire of passion burning him deep and hidden

He could fight no war in battlefields
For he was not “The Knight in Shining Armour”
His courage was no less for he won over the demon inside
A voice firm enough to admit the wrongs, he had done in life

Neither he promised to be there forever
Nor he made an effort to impress her ever
She could have never found her love for him
Yet it was always special when they were together

Neither a heart of pure gold nor he was a one in a million soul
Neither a good and nor a bad,
He was neither the perfect and nor the flawed
Just a union of all she wanted him to have

She knew he was a dream she can see every night
Only feel his presence and dare not touch
And he wished she stays for some more time
They knew they wouldn’t last forever, yet wanted to be there a little longer

She knew he wouldn’t stay till the end,
Nor that she ever cared
For relationships bring out the best in us
Which lasts even when they dont stay forever

Neither they were the Romantic Red
Nor they were the Infatuated Pink
They were a mix of the two, living somewhere in between

Neither a permanent nor a temporary
They were more like a Promise of Raspberry!
